Peace in an imperfect world…

Writer: Jose PierreJose Pierre

Isaiah 32:18 18 “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.” True peace is the freedom to rest without being overwhelmed by fears and concerns. This is the peace that God promises those who keep His commands and are obedient.

Philippians 4:6 6 “do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Anxiety can come in at any time in our lives. Anxiety creeps in from the escalation of fearful thoughts. In our world today there is a lot that can get us to become anxious. The current unemployment rate, the global economy woes, government and personal debt, the uncertainties about the future, our children, wars, famines, natural disasters, etc. Each of us has our own story or events that affect us. Worrying about finances or relationships, or whatever else only distances us from God, leads us to fear and hopelessness. One of the devil’s favorite ways to steal our joy and destabilize us is by stealing our peace.

To live the life that God has for you; keep His word close to you, meditate on it, obey and follow Him. Joshua 1:8 8 “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” God is speaking to His children; let’s listen, remain obedient and heed to His warnings about our personal lives, else we will end up in very serious trials and fear. Pray continuously that God will give you His peace which surpasses all understanding.
