We began our walk like any other, but the wind wrapped around us and made us pause. In that simple moment, we realized how often God speaks through what we barely notice. We wrote this poem to capture that feeling and share the gratitude it stirred in us.This morning, as we began our walk, the wind surrounded us—cool, steady, impossible to overlook. This moment became a quiet Thanksgiving reflection on God’s creation and the blessings we often overlook.
Autumn morning scene with a blue sky, a few trees with golden leaves, a pond reflecting the sky, and a winding trail.

Most days, we would have passed right through it,barely feeling its touch, never stopping long enough to see its meaning.

But today, God slowed us.In that gentle, circling breeze,He caught our attention.

We felt its purpose—how it carries life quietlyfrom tree to tree, flower to flower, moving creation forward in ways we rarely see.

We felt its power—that the same wind that can rise fiercewas today a soft reminderof God’s wisdom and design.

We felt its wonder—a simple breeze, yet a servant of God’s work, faithful and unseen.

And in that small moment,we realized how oftenwe overlook such gifts.

How many gentle mercies

God places in our path—quiet comforts, small blessings, whispers of His presence.

And today, through something as ordinary as the wind,He opened our eyes. He reminded us to notice,to slow down,to give thanks.

And now, at our Thanksgiving table,we gave thanks for more than the moment—we gave thanks for the family around us,for the love that fills our home, for every blessing seen and unseen.

For the wind that woke our hearts that morning, and for the peoplewho keep our hearts full every day.

We are grateful. We are blessed. Thanks be to God.

We’re learning that God speaks not only in the big, unforgettable moments, but just as powerfully in the gentle rhythms of everyday life. If this poem helps you see His presence more clearly, even for a moment, then we are grateful. May His quiet blessings surround you today.
